Hello! I was gifted this Bird of Paradise by a friend. I plan to add a support to main leaf, but wondering if I should cut shoot from old leaf? Thanks!

i would, but you don’t have to!

I’m not familiar with this plant but I’d cut off the long stems \& let the new stalks grow to develop a new thriving plant. Looks like it’s getting too much water too (droopy leaves)
