Hello everyone I would really like some advice on how to repot my rubber tree it’s to big for its pot and roots are growing out of the drainage hole. And made the dirt into on big ball. Please if you have any tips or what soil I should would be very helpful. 🌱

Pick a pot about 2” larger than your current one. Put some rocks or broken pottery at the bottom for drainage. Put a couple of inches of soil over that.

Ease the plant out of its current pot (don’t yank it by the stem, turn it upside down so it falls out). If the roots are circling, maybe slash the sides so they grow out into the new soil.

Set the root ball in the new pot and fill in soil gently around the sides. Water to settle the soil and add a little more on top if necessary. Don’t bury the crown!

Voila!

Personally I just use “regular” soil and for picky plants I throw in a little perlite, but others might have more specific suggestions.
