Raven ZZ question: will I get new growth from these stumps? It was cut like this when I got it (I assume by the grower to prop.)

To my experience Sadly, No but it could be just me

I tried that once and it didn't work. Zz plants have rhizomes, so it will grow babies from those.

You won't get anything from the stumps but new stalks will grow from the rhizomes. . Sometimes mine won't give me anything for a year and sometimes it gives me 3 new ones. So just let it sit there with some good light and it will be just fine. ☺️

I second this as my experience! I was gifted a ZZ and a couple of stems were damaged so I chopped. The stumps themselves have done nothing but there have been 3 new stems from where the old stumps shoot from!
