# Hi! Over the winter, I bought this unmarked plant after seeing it…

_Postat av Alex den 2024-03-30_

Hi! Over the winter, I bought this unmarked plant after seeing it half dead on the rescue/clearance shelf at my local nursery for about $2. After getting it to perk up, I thought it was a peperomia rana verde. But recently, some of the new leaves it's been growing have started showing a beautiful red color along their veins and edges (it might be a little difficult to see in the picture). At first, I thought the new color could be a response to the change in grow lights, as I moved it from under a white grow light to under a pink grow light (that's also when it started showing this color). But now, I'm wondering if it's the light, or if it could just be a different kind of peperomia. Any ideas?

Hey there. Noticed no one commented on your post and wanted to see if I could help out. I definitely believe is a peperomia albovittata. I bought an albovittata for $6 a while back and it had considerably thinner, smaller leaves than my peperomia obtusifolias. I’ve found the red stems are quite common among many of the peperomia species (and I really love the color, personally) Here’s a picture of my albovittata for comparison. Hope this helps you narrow it down!

And here’s a link to the plant ID for peperomia albovittata “rana verde” for comparison. Completely unrelated side note, but the asiatic lilies in your profile photo are absolutely gorgeous, and I’d love to hear any tips if you’ve got any.
