It is flowering you can keep it or cut it. If you let it flower, it takes a lot of energy away; keep that in mind.

For reference for deciding whether to cut it, hawthorias tend to have small, rather delicate blooms on a long stem. Here's what they usually look like (some species are a bit more showy, but this is average:)

Bloom spike. Personal preference. I leave them cause the flowers are pretty.

I always leave my blooms. My plants never seem the worse for wear and they are pretty.
