What kind of wall planters do you use, and how do you water them?

I want to do something like these photos, but I can’t figure out how I’m supposed to fully water the plants and provide drainage, especially since the plant would be attached to the wall so I can’t just take it down.

Thank you! 😊

I’ve seen trays that hook on as a water drip catcher that are super cute before too

I’ve seen some on amazon but to bottom water they use a cotton wick/cord, I’m not sure that would be efficient enough!

No they hook on to a pot and hang below it to catch water that drips out of your pots drainage holes.

And you can also get cheaper clear ones like this and then just take it off after it’s all dripped out

I have some planters that use cotton wicks to draw up water, I think they work pretty fine.

i have some wall pots that i got from amazon that have a self-watering wick! so there’s an inner pot you attach the wick to \& put your plant in, then there’s the outer pot that you can attach to the wall. the outer pot is taller than the inner pot so it acts as a water reservoir. you can lift up the inner pot just a bit to see how much water is in them to water as needed. i suppose if you didn’t want to use the self watering wick you could just use the outer pot as a reservoir to catch excess water then dump it after the inner pot drains.

Do you use the wick to bottom water, just fill the bottom and wait for the wick to bring all the water up?

if the soil of the plant is pretty dry when i move it to one of these pots i’ll top-water first. if the soil is still a bit damp i’ll just let the wick do its job 😊

I have stick on clips that the vine just slips into so you can move it anytime you want. I water it in place but for cleaning, I like to sit it in my sink.

I have some too and I do the same now, but i’m thinking if i’m able to get the plant all the way across the arch I won’t want to take it down every time 😂

I have a pot on a little stand. When I water (from top) any extra water drips into a clear plastic drip tray below the stand. Then I can slide out the tray \& pour out excess.

I guess this would only work if you have a flat surface/table near your wall or you’re growing your plant up from the floor

I’m leaning towards a small shelf so it will likely be something like this, I think it will be easier, and it'll let me upgrade the pot eventually!
