i got this lavender plant to grow and the instructions

3\. to recreate the seeds frost period before planting, carefully open packet and place seeds in water for 30 mins then a towel then into the fridge for 2-3 days

do i really do to do this?? or can i plant the seeds directly in the soil?

I planted mine and put them outside. It’s still a little cold in the evenings in a lot of areas so that did the trick. They’re growing!
