# I’ve had this homemade tea light fixture in storage for quite some…

_Publicado por Renny B el 2026-03-08_

I’ve had this homemade tea light fixture in storage for quite some time. Then I got the idea that these little pots fit perfectly! So I attached it to my front porch and bingo! I’m gonna need more pots and plants! I’ll probably use some clippings from my other plants first. These little guys I bought from a local nursery. I’m excited!! I can’t wait until it’s completely full! Any suggestions on what kind of plants are ideal for indirect and partial direct afternoon light? My porch faces northwest with large, bushy tress in the front yard. Many thanks in advance!

Very cool!

So neat! I love repurposing projects like this. 🥰 For recommendations, I'd personally stick with things don't mind getting dry. That small of pots would need constant water to stay moist outdoors in the heat!

Thanks! These four are in plastic pots inside the terracotta pots. I’m on the lookout for small plastic pots but can’t find any that small locally.

Just to clarify... This fixture is home-made? Did you make it?? It is so cool!

I made it with the help of my Dad, who is a welder, about 20 years ago when I got my house. It was originally intended to be a wall feature with little glass cups for tea candles. After a while things changed and I stored it away. Then I got into plants last June. Then I saw a facebook post about gluing magnets to 2” pots to stick them on the fridge. AND THEN I thought about the fixture and mounting it on my front porch. And here we are.

So, so awesome. It's good to have a welder in the family, isn't it? 😆
