Mine does that when it needs water or if the light is too bright/hot. Since your soil looks moist, maybe move it out of that window and put it a little further away. Good luck.

I don’t think it’s a light issue unless you are getting direct sunlight from the south which can be harsh. My spider plant gets full sunlight each morning for 5 hours. It could be insufficient fertilizer.

Also, spider plants like snug roots in soil that drains well. I recommend a very small temporary plastic pot or small plastic cup as in my pic. Add perlite or other aggregate to the soil to increase drainage. 🍀🪴

It is in a south facing window but the thing with my spider plant is it was a gift and also a plantling so it has no roots you

I looks like the pot is way too big for the plant. I would down size and make sure the soil has some airflow.

I put my spider babies in water first to develop some sort of root system. It always works well for me! Here are a few that my cat pulled off the mother plant a few days ago, a little earlier than I would have liked… they already have roots forming 🤗

I use a shot glass lol, so not much. And I make sure not to overfill, you want the water just over the base where the roots form
