My ficus is loosing leaves like it’s going out of style! Ive probably had it about a month. It’s in a room with pretty good morning light. It’s near other plants. It’s near a humidifier. I’m watering it according to planta. Any advice on why the leaves are falling off?

Well it IS a ficus, and that is what they want to do 😅 but seriously, planta's schedule should be more of an indication that it's time to check if a plant needs watering, at first-- once the schedule adapts, it's more reliable, but it's not a bad idea to check first before watering every time.

Yes, I’ve heard ficuses can be difficult! So maybe they like to be dryer? If planta says to water and it’s dry - water? If it’s still wet or damp - don’t?

Pretty much. Although I don't have this specific ficus, so maybe someone who's had success with this one can be more helpful. I have 3 different types of ficus and with all of them, I've found it's important not to over-water. They're in the group of plants I check frequently, which also includes ferns, calatheas, anthuriums, and isolated plants. I don't let them completely dry out, just not wet or damp at the surface, and if I'm unsure I wait another day or two. So far, it's working, but of course adapting for your situation is important. I find mine like more light than I thought they would, as well, as long as it's not direct afternoon sun.

Ok - thanks for the advice! I’ve had it a month so I’m just learning what it likes and wants!

I bought one at a plant store years ago and I swear all the leaves fell off just while my mom was visiting. I was like ummmm what did I do?
