Though I set up some new ones and moved some plants under them, so they are on 6-8 right now, while those plants harden off to the brighter light. I have too many spread across the house to be turning them on and off myself every day. You can buy fairly inexpensive plug timers and they're a huge quality of life improvement. My lights are on for 12 hours from spring to fall equinox and 8-10 hours from fall to spring equinox (depending on the timer settings on each light).
