# Just bought this SOB, first (of MANY MORE) string I’ve had the please…

_Posted by Crazyplantperson⛲️ on 2024-04-17_

Just bought this SOB, first (of MANY MORE) string I’ve had the please of owning. He came in this little decorative pot, I was thinking of repotting him tomorrow but worried he might be a little dramatic. Any thoughts? (Sorry about the tat, couldn’t find a better way to take the pic with the whole plant 😅)

I have a string of dolphins and string of pearls… I had trouble after adding new soil and watering for the first time after buying. Lost half of the foliage! Not sure why. My string of turtles and string of frogs are growing great though! No issues after repotting and watering

Thank you for the advice! I haven’t watered her yet, and I think I’ll wait a few days, she seems to be doing okay in the pot she’s in, so I’ll leave her, just didn’t wanna risk root rot. I’m not sure there are drainage holes in the pot she’s in.

It’s best to wait to repot after first getting a new plant as transitioning to a new environment is stressful for a plant as is repotting, so you want to give it time to acclimate before inflicting another stress on it. I wait a minimum of 2 weeks before repotting. You also want to isolate new plants away from any others incase any pests have come with it.

Thank you so much!! She’s seems to be happy enough in the pot she’s in, I was just worried about root rot. I’m not sure the pot that she’s in has drainage holes, so that’s the only reason I was gonna repot her!
