Saffron shoots. It's the wrong time of year in my area but my silly butt ordered corms from the Netherlands... They should self correct by this fall but I think I might get early blooms in my controlled climate tent!

Wow! Is saffron difficult to grow?

It's very picky and grows opposite to everything else. When everything is in bloom, saffron is sleeping (0 water for ~4 months) and when everything is yellowing down, saffron is blooming in October. They despise wet feet so err on the conservative and bone dry side. My mix is 50% potting soil \& the rest is sand/perlite. The light is on 14hrs a day right now. Technically they are supposed to be yellowing down at this point. First attempt for me but so far so good!
