# I just planted fatsia Japonica in the ground and everything I ready…

I just planted fatsia Japonica in the ground and everything I ready says, “…give it a long drink of water”. That is way too vague for a newbie like me. Can anyone weigh in on this? I ran the hose for 5 minutes each. Is that enough?

When I hear “a long drink of water” I think about a saucer with water under the plant for most of the day. Just to allow it to drink water as it pleases without starting to dry.

They’re planted in the ground but I do like that method for my potted plants, too.
