# Planta has me on a fertilizing schedule for all of my plants and…

Planta has me on a fertilizing schedule for all of my plants and everything I know says to only fertilize in the growing months. Is there a way to change this in the app?

I ignore that and just give them water AFTER figuring out if they actually need it (often the plant app tells me to water but the plant no way needs it yet so I skip or snooze). I also use a bamboo skewer to see if the soil is actually dry if I can’t tell by feel.

If your plant is growing, it needs food. It’s a misnomer that you should only fertilize in the spring/summer or “growing months”. I fertilize year around as my plants are still growing.

Yes you can change it in to app. You can set it to whatever frequency you want in the Custom Care section per plant.
