# I bought this plant 4 days ago and the leaves have drooped down…

I bought this plant 4 days ago and the leaves have drooped down significantly since bringing it home. Have been following light requirements, have not watered yet. Should I try watering? I didn’t want to over do it with this guy.

Beautiful plant. My prayer plant droops like that during the day and folds up at night. I thought it was a problem, but seems to be normal. How does the soil feel at 1” down? If still moist I would wait. It’s not showing signs of stress that I can detect. Best wishes.

I have 10+ prayer plants and they all droop their leaves to some extent in the morning and slowly raise them as the day goes by. As long as the soil isn’t dry, this drooping is part of their normal behavior

Look up time lapse prayer plant videos and it will show you how drastically they move throughout the day/night! It’s crazy!

Also it kinda looks like the plant is super deep in that pot. Is it in a nursery pot inside a decorative one? If so, I’d prop up the nursery pot in the decorative one so that the leaves aren’t being fenced in by the pot. This will also increase the amount of oxygen that reaches the roots and allow the maranta to move its leaves the way it wants to
