# Anyone have experience (good or bad) with Cat Palms? Are they tough…

Anyone have experience (good or bad) with Cat Palms? Are they tough kids or delicate divas, somewhere in between?

I’m tempted by one I met tonight, but I’m in upper Midwest, so house is very dry over winter and Planta says it likes high humidity. The one I have an eye on is already 2-3 feet tall, not a good candidate for one of my cabinets. I don’t think I can get to high humidity with a pebble tray, and I’m not even confident a humidifier could do the job. Can I pull her through a winter without ideal conditions, or am I just bringing home a plant I’m likely to promptly kill?

i had a poor experience with scale and it barely grew, despite being by a humidifier.
