# Alright plant lovers, I need some help! Bernie (my Boston fern over…

Alright plant lovers, I need some help! Bernie (my Boston fern over here) is shedding like mad and seems to be yellowing across the whole plant (more in the underside, you can see it on the right closer to the lamp).

What can I do to help it thrive? This is my first plant to give me any kind of trouble and I really want to save it before it’s too late 🙏🏻

He’s looking good to me, mine is almost died. I can’t get them to live in any rooms in my home.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Maybe I’m over reacting. When he came home he was so much more full than he is here…so I thought I was doing something wrong 🥹

He is stunning I wish mine looked even half that healthy. Mine has died again. Keep an eye on him. Is he by any drafts or heating?

He is close-ish to a vent. It’s right underneath the window to the left

Ferns typically like high humidity. I want one badly but live in a dry Colorado 😭. Is he getting enough humidity?

When I have mine indoors, I increase watering, mist 1-2 times a day, keep a humidifier running nearby and dishes of water nearby. They love humidity. I regularly run my hand through to get rid of dead pieces and cut out shoots too far gone. This seems to encourage new growth. Don’t forget to fertilize. Yours really doesn’t look too bad, with a little extra TLC he can be even better in no time.

I have nothing to add except I’m also trying to help my fern thrive and I also happen to have a dog named Fern and I call her Bernie all the time. (She’s a boxer)
