# My polka dot plant used to be lush and beautiful with bright pink and…

My polka dot plant used to be lush and beautiful with bright pink and green! Is it normal for it to grow out a lot then die off? It looks like there’s new growth in the center. So I’m wondering if I need to trim or cut off the old long dying leaves?? Any input would be greatly appreciated 🫶🏼

I’m also not a fan of mine. It’s leggy and constantly dropping leaves. I just don’t think they make good houseplants. I’ll be passing mine along soon as well.

Trim it. Pop the cuttings back in the soil or in water

It used to look like this when I got it and now has slowly progressed to the picture above.

Once they get leggy like that (usually from bad or not enough light) they are EXTREMELY persnickety. I have been trying to rehab one for about a year, and it never has grown back well. Any hints or tips would be appreciated.
