Hi! I’m new here and not 100% new to plants but consider myself a newbie still. I purchased a monstera from someone and I think it’s ready for some type of support. I have no idea what that looks like or how to do so. Can anyone provide tips/tricks? TYIA!

The type of staking is really a personal decision, moss pole, coco coir pole, cedar plank, garden stake. What you choose may also depend on how many stems are in the pot.

There was a post the other day in the Monstera group about everyone’s set up. Shows a lot of different options. Might help if you took a look at that post. Lots of people uploaded pics of their monsteras.

monsteras a so so so amazing however not exactly a beginnerish plant but one of the main tricks i know is to keep it in its ideal humidity this may seem like a not so important step however it really does benefit the plant! best of luck!

I agree about it not being a plant for beginners! I have had zero luck with one🧐

monstera will do well on any kind of support, so it’s up to you and your personal aesthetic. the only important thing is to be sure the support is on the back end of the plant. monstera have a “face” where all the leaves grow and a back where the aerial roots grow. they are also not the kind of plant you want to turn, keep its face toward the light
