Anyone having issues with the seasons change and plants ? I have two small common ivy that I have had on a window sill and have been great all summer till now .. They are turning yellow and not sure if it’s the change of season or under watering ?? Thanks for the help 😁

It’s so frustrating, especially when they are doing so well and then , all the sudden yellow !! And not sure why !!

Just chiming in here to say that I have been feeling the same way! All 7 of my different plants just aren’t thriving, growing and as colorful as they were two months ago. I really do think it’s the change of seasons because I have had issues with overwatering and under watering and too chilly or hot etc before, but this just is different.

Spring and summer are the growing seasons for most plants. They use more energy trying to produce seeds, foliage and roots. They use less energy in colder months when growth slows or stops. So, they need less water and fertilizer. Over watering tends to happen in colder months when watering on a schedule that worked great in summer.

Sun angles change in colder months and days are shorter. Plants, especially tropical plants, may not get enough light. They may need grow lights to keep them healthy. Cold drafts and heaters can negatively impact plants.

Thank you 😊

This is my first winter with a house-ful of plants. I’ve been buying/setting up grow lights, humidifiers, and fountains left and right, trying to combat the dry darkness. 😓
