# Hello! New to this app and forum and just got this new satin pothos…

Hello! New to this app and forum and just got this new satin pothos from a garden centre, just have a couple questions:

what age do you think this plant is?

should I aim to water it straight away? the soil is sort of dry but I wouldn’t say completely and have no way of knowing when it was last watered so don’t want to overwater it straight away

That’s actually not a satin pothos! It looks like a pearl and jade pothos. It’s hard to tell age on it as it could be one big plant or it could be many little cuttings put into one plant. I would only water if the top inch of the soils is dry otherwise you can wait! Hope this helps!

oh wow when I used the photo identifier it said satin pothos but yes now I’ve googled that it is pearl and jade! I think I will wait with the watering thanks so much x

Usually they are many rooted cuttings planted into one pot 😁

I have a little bit of both pearls \& jade Pothos, and N’joy Pothos.. they kinda look the same to me 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

I’ve had mine for a year and it’s starting to vine. It was a bit “bushy” for awhile..

Hey Jodie I’m like you I always want to know how old a plant is. No good reason just like an idea. It’s lovely! They do like to dry a bit before a good drink. I will mist mine once midway through. Best wishes with your Photos!
