# What is happening to my beautiful peace lily?!! It has been doing…

What is happening to my beautiful peace lily?!! It has been doing fantastic and suddenly the leaves are turning black and crumbling. It is in a south facing window (off to the side) for the winter months. Any help would be appreciated

Maybe root rot? Soil might be Too wet for too long! Try Bottom watering if you are not already doing so! Around 30 minutes each plant to soak up the water they need

I believe this Could also be caused from Underwatering? Check soil moisture levels first. If the Soil stays wet for too long i would Check the roots for any Root rot

I just watered tonight and will move plant tomorrow to more indirect sun. I read this could also be the leaves being burned from direct sun

It doesn’t look like sunburn. Sunburn usually happens on the parts of the plant exposed to direct sun. It wouldn’t only burn leaf tips. Can’t burn areas not I direct sun.

Several other things can cause brown leaf tips: chlorine/fluoride in tap water, excessive fertilizer, and over or underwatering.
