# Hi guys, My African fig is starting to shed some leaves and some of…

Hi guys,

My African fig is starting to shed some leaves and some of the higher leaves look this (see attached picture.) I’m fairly new to plant parenthood so am a bit worried what I’m doing wrong here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just a few questions so I can try to help: How long have you had this plant? Have you fertilized it? Do you see any signs of pest bugs?

I’ve had it about a month. And no sign of pests at the moment!

It could be adjusting to its new environment then. It might also be a nutrient deficiency. A plant that big is probably going to want fertilizer somewhat often

I gave it some BabyBio yesterday when watering, so I’ll keep an eye on it.

I was worried it wasn’t getting enough light at first so moved him in front of the window for a little bit.

Looks like it was eaten by thrips at one time.
