This plant hates me. My aunt got me this for Thanksgiving 2014. It never blooms. In all these years I’ve seen a few flowers, that’s it. I \*think\* that’s a bloom. 🤞🏻

I have about 15 holiday cactus. I love all the different colors. They were all doing amazing but then last year I only got a few blooms and this year I don’t have any buds yet. Not treating them any differently. Don’t get it. 🤷‍♀️

My moms thanksgiving cactus has exploded with blooms. The plant is huge and some times blooms multiple times a year. Its in a south facing window and she said it likes to be watered. Maybe try increasing how often you water?

This one belonged to my grandmother. I stop fertilizing in fall and start watering less. Cooler night temps help form blooms, but the Christmas version does fine with the natural less light of winter. The Easter definitely needs longer dark periods and cooler temps to form buds.

I think keeping them outside is key. That way they get the right light at the right time of year.

In Pennsylvania? It is below freezing often.

Ahhh right! Probably not. I mean, i guess what i was trying to say is, the plant wants to be in its ideal environment where it was originally from. Outside there. So trying to re-create that would be what it wants.
I’m a bit spoiled living in so-Cal, mine is outside and looks like its about to fully bloom this week.

It will continue to grow new clades until it’s ready to bloom. Mine took a few yrs to bloom \& when it did the blooms burst open 😂

Don’t forget to fertilize in the summer.. a fertilizer for blooming plants works well
