# help! just bought this plant at my local asian market for really…

_Posted by morgan on 2023-11-11_

help! just bought this plant at my local asian market for really cheap, and my best guess is that it is a philodendron persimmon princess (???) which can be valued well into the 600 dollar range but i’m not sure. any ideas? if it is, i would want to propagate some cuttings and sell them, but it’s just one big stalk with no visible nodes, just lots of aerial roots. any ideas on how i would propagate? thank you!!! (trying to make some money to buy even more plants hehe)

One of the hallmarks of a persimmon princess is variegation. Could be a McColley's finale. Lovely plant though and great size. I’m currently in the process of propping an imperial red of a similar size. You’d definitely want at least a couple aerial roots in each part you chop off. You’ll probably end up taking off some leaves because the space between nodes is so compact on these guys. The bottom stump with the roots can be left to grow a new point, the chopped bits can be rooted in water, spagnum, or whatever you prefer

McColleys finale I believe is how you spell it.
I have one too.
I thought it was a red Congo.
