# Newbie question. I have successfully moved all of my outdoor plants…

Newbie question. I have successfully moved all of my outdoor plants inside. They’ve been inside for over a month. I just noticed that there are some gnat looking bugs flying around and walking in the dirt of some of my plants. Help! I don’t want bugs in my house. How do I rid my plants of these critters?

Did you rinse your plants off before bringing inside? Systemic insecticide. Mosquito bits.

I did rinse them all off and sprayed with a lavender soap solution that was recommended

They’re likely fungus gnats ! They’re so annoying. I’ve tried all sorts of things over the years but most effective thing I’ve used is hydrogen peroxide. I mix it in water, and use it to water the affected plants.

Cinnamon is also effective apparently? I’ve recently tried sprinkling it on top of the soil as well just to make sure they go away lol. But I can’t vouch for how effective it actually is

Thank you

What ratio for hydrogen/water mixture?

I think it’s supposed to be 4:1 water to hydrogen peroxide, but I honestly use even less than that.

They’re probably fungus gnats. I use the Zevo light to trap the adults but you still we need to treat the soil to get rid of the larvae. I’ve used the we the wild neem oil spray. It worked wonderfully and it doesn’t have a very strong smell like other neem oils. Also make sure to not over water your plants because they love laying eggs in moist soil
