# I’m right in assuming this is a spider mite and it’s web in the soil…

I’m right in assuming this is a spider mite and it’s web in the soil of my peace Lily? (It’s very small, this is very magnified)

I’m only questioning it because I’ve never dealt with pests before, the soil is very moist which I know spider mites aren’t a fan of, and I don’t see any webs under any of the leaves so I’m a bit unsure why it would just be chilling in the moist soil

That’s not a spider mite. That’s a regular spider. Spider mites hang in groups.

Oh really! I’ve watched so many videos on pests and how to identify them, but I struggle so much to tell the difference. I did find it strange that there’s no webbing whatsoever on or under the leaves especially with how large the plant is

This!👆They look like a Christmas Island crab migration except they won’t leave until all of the life is sucked from the plant.

Spider mites, hang more on the leaves then the soil

Amazon has been sticking traps for the gnets as well. That will help too.

The granules labeled Mosquito Bits kills the larvae of fungus gnats, white flies, and mosquitoes when mixed into the soil. It works.
