# I’m so upset! I bought a redwood bonsai at sears. It was discounted…

I’m so upset! I bought a redwood bonsai at sears. It was discounted but still over $100. This poor baby arrived. He’s technically not even a bonsai; just a sapling with the apex chopped off, which is really bad for the tree. He was wilted and packed so poorly that the little foliage he had was mostly broken off by the time he got here. I’ve written to their customer service to complain about the quality of the tree and the way they treated it, but I don’t want to send it back because I know they’ll just throw it out. Am I weird? 😶 And anyone have any experience with redwoods? I’m thinking he’ll be pretty much like my juniper, but any additional tips are very much appreciated! 🙏

Wow that’s crazy. I’m not a bonsai expert by any means, but they straight up sent you a Charlie Brown Christmas tree 😬 I totally think you should get a refund. Maybe they won’t require you to send it back. Idk. It looks like they potted up a volunteer tree growing from a crack in the parking lot! I absolutely don’t want to sound patronizing, so please know that I say this with empathy (and my own experience from similar situations), I would buy from a dedicated bonsai grower/greenhouse next time. I hope you get your money back 🥺
