Picked up this fella at Trader Joe’s today. He’s a leaner and when I go to repot, should I cover up the excess stem with soil in order to make him not lean??

That’s a beautiful Monstera. I’d get a natural climber pole from Amazon and gently wrap/pin some of the bigger leaves up it, otherwise Monsteras tend to spread sideways. They can be trained to climb up !

Thanks for the tip!

I use a moss pole that bends and can be moved around the plant, not a straight one. Easier to then gently move the stems

i would tie the side with aerial roots to a pole for stability. monstera have a ‘front’ and ‘back’ so be sure the leaf side (‘front’) is facing away from the pole

Moss pole! And I would repot.
