First new leaf since I brought this beauty home 💕

Side note; does anyone know if those tiny white dots are normal (not the bigger spots) for a ruby rubber plant? She’s had this since I got her. They don’t rub off/can’t remove them, so I feel like they aren’t pests, but I’m unsure

i don’t think they’re pests! do you water with tap water? it could be calcium build up or another mineral on the leaves. i like to water with the jug water twice a month. helps with the spots

I do water with tap water only bc I’m a little busy 😅 but I suppose I could just let a jug of water sit for 24 hours or so!

girl i do too. i get it 😂 i water with the jug or boil the tap water (cool completely) and water with that every 2-3 week or every other watering. really helps

Those spots are normal

Spots are some kind of mineral storage.. I read about it a year ago so I can’t remember much but it’s totally normal for ficus ! They’re basically storing nutrients in little white freckles. Google it for a better explanation but basically do what others above had said, rotate tap and filtered water, mines been outside all summer getting rain water and I had put it out there to die and it is just thriving 🤷🏻‍♀️

Welcome :) I’m only one year into this new adhd project so I have a lot to learn but I have done a lot of research in the past year !
