I just got my first ever string of pearls! Do you guys have any advice to keep it healthy and happy?

absolutely bottom water these! watering over the top can cause many issues with stem rot and can sometimes break the stems off completely

I find plantas water schedule for these can be a bit excessive. Similar to succulents they don’t do well with overwatering so make sure you have a gritty well draining soil mix and when you get the notification make sure you check the pearls closest to the soil to see if they have a bit of a “squish” if they don’t snooze your watering a little longer

Would this go for any “string of” plant? I have string of dolphins which isn’t really growing but also doesn’t look bad. It’s just growing slow. My string of hearts is doing great tho!

Yes to a varying degree. You can use the squish/taco test on all SO things to figure out when they need watering, a rough guide is the thicker the shape of the leaves the less need to water as regularly. I don’t have a dolphin but I’ve found my hearts to be the fastest growing and most tolerant to regular watering, then pearls is a fastish grower but needs the least watering and my turtle is a slowww grower (I’ve let him flower though) and is about half way between the two for watering schedule

Yes- bottom water \*occasionally\* and ignore it otherwise 😂. I let mine just hang around and look pretty and water when it’s dry. Good luck!
