# Hi! My spider plant grew this stem towards my light up mirror in…

_Posted by j cronin on 2023-09-12_

Hi! My spider plant grew this stem towards my light up mirror in about 1.5 hours (moment to appreciate the awesomeness of plants please!)
I feel like I probably ought to snip it off as it’s somewhat in the way, but any recommendations as to how to snip it/what to do with it?
Thank You :)

You can snip it back to the base if you want. It won’t hurt anything. But if you leave it alone, it’ll produce flowers and baby spider plants you can propagate.

You’re welcome! They can get a little unruly while they’re growing. 😂

Hi, I have a spider plant too and it has grown many of these. They eventually grow little babies which you can propagate, so I would say it’s best to just rotate the plant pot to another direction and leave it.

thank youuu! i’ll rotate it and look at how to propagate the babies!
