# hi guys long story short I’ve had this Fairy Washboard for five years…

hi guys  
long story short I’ve had this Fairy Washboard for five years and for the first three years I forgot it pretty much existed (didn’t repot, watered every other month I was a bad plant mom) and I recently started to take care of it more (pic of it on shelf) and the leaves got super long. Recently I repotted it and it had bad root rot and more than half of it fell out and I was wondering if it will bounce back. Is currently confused plz help

How often do you water now? I would confidently guess you have overwatered her, especially after such sparse watering over the years.

Agree with overwatering. Additionally, with blinds on the window it does not get as much light (it is a high light plant) so it’s watering needs are reduced. I would also make sure it’s in a succulent potting mix. It looks like your pot already has a drainage hole, which is good.

definitely check on the roots, they may be rotting still. i also think this is haworthiopsis venosa, not haworthia limifolia (fairy washboard)
