# I bought this plant and I think it came with thrips already, but then…

I bought this plant and I think it came with thrips already, but then it started turning yellow and some leaf already faded, I heard cinnamon might help, does anybody want to share some recommendations or treatment for pets?

I also tough it was lake of drainage but I repotted it and clean its soil, and the pot have a hole.

No idea, kind of new with plants

I’ll appreciate any comment, thanks

The entire plant needs to be cleaned. I’m talking new soil, run the pot through the dishwasher etc. if you have thrips you need to do your very best to prevent them from spreading to your other plants and stop the infestation from making this plant purchase a waste of money! I would wash the plant in Dr bronners pure castile soap (peppermint only) kills and dries out all bugs. Next i would spray with neem oil and possibly repot in a different medium for now (perlite, water, leca, etc) to ultimately make sure pests never return. Wet top soil is only gonna wanna make those thrips come back for more! And remember, even if you do all previous steps and still have problems - it happens to all of us. I’ve even seen insta plant gurus with 100k+ followers have to throw certain plants away because the infestation wouldn’t stop. Wishing you luck!
