# Greeting! I have this beautiful rose bush that was planted 4 years…

_Posted by Mrs. Calloway on 2023-08-30_

Greeting! I have this beautiful rose bush that was planted 4 years ago.. we moved in and i would love to get this baby blooming by the next few years. Except idk how to do that just yet. Advice would be appreciated. But do y’all see this stump that’s in the middle? I get these different type of foliage and I use to think it was maybe weeds or part of the rose bush. But Honestly I can be wrong, idk but I would like to prep this baby but I feel like whatever was planted there came back and they are fighting for water along with the grass around it. (Our mower broke so excuse the overgrown grass) So I’m planning on putting mulch on top and spacing it soon but that’s all I got so far.

weeding and mulch seems like a great first step, i’d recommend fertilizing with bone meal (available at your local garden center) next spring to encourage blooms

What about the stump tho? What does it look like?

It’s in between the rose bush. And thank you so much!

The stump looks like a weed. Try to remove it to save the rose bush.
