# So, I bought this live basil plant from the grocery store. It said it…

So, I bought this live basil plant from the grocery store. It said it was hydroponic - which I know
Means it was somehow grown in the water but I know little more than that. So when I brought it home, I initially stuck it in water, cause I thought that's what I was supposed to do. I noticed it drank the water up super quickly, so I put more water in the little dish it was sitting in.

Anyways, it wasn't happy. It was also in indirect sunlight in my kitchen. So I took it out of water, and started just watering it normally. And by that I mean letting it dry out cause the top soil was moist and I didn't want the roots to rot. I also moved it to the only spot in my apartment that kids bright light for a few hours a day. (It also gets several hours of indirect light).

Does it just need a few days to recover? Should I water it? The top layer of soil is dry.

I would do a repot so you could check out what’s going on with the roots
