# Hello! Could someone ID this plant for me? After killing my first…

Hello! Could someone ID this plant for me?
After killing my first plant 7 years ago, I decided enough time had passed and I watched enough youtube videos to try again. I got three plants last week and one of them I thought was a zz plant. It was in a plastic planter with only some kind of moss(I think? It was super light and fluffy on the top and was so heavy with water in the rest of the pot) I didn’t think the plant would survive so I replanted it in a succulent/cacti soil mix. The plant wasn’t labeled at the store so I don’t know exactly what it is and it didn’t have rhizomes or anything similar looking when I looked at it while repotting. Just roots. Do certain types of zz plants not have rhizomes? Or is this something totally different?
Could someone please tell me what this plant is so I can google how to care for it? I really don’t want them to die this time 😢

Definitely a type of Hoya

This is definitely a hoya but not sure what kind. All hoyas, though, love a lot of light!!! And don’t water until all the soil is completely dry.

looks like hoya australis to me but there are so many similar species it’s hard to know for sure until it flowers. like tigerlilly said pretty much all hoya species love light, i wait until the soil is mostly to completely dry (depending on the plant) to water
