# Hi, I am just starting here, the app keeps telling me to water my…

Hi,  
I am just starting here, the app keeps telling me to water my plants but the soil is wet. I snooze but it isn’t dry yet. It has drainage. Some of my plants are reacting a bit negatively with some browning on the leaves…any suggestions?

Hey, just to let you know you could edit when your plant needs to be watered. By default it will randomly time when the next watering is which is not always correct. So for the first couple of days, you kind of have to figure out when’s the next time to water your plants, on your own. One method that could help is by putting your finger 1 inch into the dirt, and feels if it’s wet. If so, it does not need to be watered. If you don’t want to use your finger, you can use a toothpick. If dirt sticks to it, doesn’t need to be watered. Count how many days, till your next watering and then just added it in the app. A little bit of work, but once you get it done, just relaxin till the next notification.

You can choose “custom care” for each plant and choose how often you want the reminders.
