# Hello! Hopefully someone can help me, but does anyone know the best…

_Posted by Taydoh99 on 2023-08-15_

Hello! Hopefully someone can help me, but does anyone know the best way to prune a lucky bamboo? I assume I cut as close to the base/actual bamboo on the off shoot, but if there was any possible way to propagate any clipping to grow more bamboo I’d love to do that too!
In general though my #1 priority is pruning the off shoots in a way that they will hopefully grow back eventually!

Any help is appreciated!! \<3

I have heard you can propagate them I don’t have any of my own but I know they are dracaena so you could treat it like any other dracaena by letting the cuttings dry out and callus over then putting it in water or soil

As for making sure they grow back I’d make sure it has a great environment with bright light so maybe move it outside for a bit if you can but those are just my thoughts again I do not have one of my own I’d do more research

I recently had a stalk that was growing at an odd angle, so I chopped and pepper it, and I didn’t wait for it to callous over. When you peel extra leaves off, you’ll see nodes (spots where roots will emerge). Make sure you get some of those in the water, and in my personal experience that’ll do the trick!
