Got a ZZ plant from my sister and one of the stalks is very sunburnt. Not sure what to do since I’ve never had one. If I prune the leaves will they grow back? If I cut the stem short will it still grow from it or kill that stem? Or do I have to just leave it as is with the burnt leaves? (It’s the left stem in pic)

Aw poor plant. They do prefer shade. So under the soil, the stems grow out of tuber-like roots. If you chop the stem, it will grow a new one from the tuber eventually. They’re kinda slow growers though. However, if you remove the leaves, the stem won’t grow new ones

I also cut a stem that was dying and the rest of the plant is thriving!
