I need some help. I left my plants with a friend for a month and my poor rubber plant looks terrible. The soil is wet meaning they clearly did not follow the watering schedule and she’s lost a lot of her leaves. What can I do for her??? The first picture is her now. The second is before I dropped her off.

Easy solution: disown your friend 🤪

😂😂😂 I’m about to! I took time to write out her schedule and it doesn’t look like it was even followed! My poor baby!

The same thing happened to me! Strict instructions and when I came back home half of them were gone. Hope your plant gets better tho!

i suggest letting it dry out or repotting it 😔. if the soil is way to moist it can create root rot. do what you think is best. i’m so sorryyyyy

Thank you for this advice! Will pick up a new pot today and get her some new soil and hope for the best 🙏🏾

I second Loralei’s advice. After that, when the plant has settled a bit, you can fix it aesthetically. You can chop down stems with blank spots if you want. A new stem will grow from where you chopped. The old stem can grow roots pretty easily in water. They like if the container is dark, like green glass or ceramic. If you don’t want to chop, I’ve also had some success using keiki paste on former leaf nodes. Some people notch the plant’s bark to encourage growth. Good luck! Sorry you had to come back to such a sad situation 😢

Will definitely repot and notch! Thank you so much. Didn’t think I’d be so attached to them, but I am lol
