(Not my photo, from a local FB group)
Big storm in my area last night with some pretty bad wind. Thankfully I only have about 6 plants on my patio that I was able to quickly move under coverings, unfortunately this person wasn’t as lucky. Does insurance cover weather related plant damage 😅

Also irrelevant question but i just snooped and looked at your plants and noticed you have a string of hearts propagating! Could you give me any advice on that? I just bought one and she has some babies on her i think and I was thinking about maybe propping them:)

Yessss!! I love when people snoop on my account. My string of hearts baby is actually a really fun story. I worked at a plant store a few months ago and found it growing out of an Alocasia and took it home to put in a small pot and it’s now over a foot long. There are two ways you can root SOH that I think are pretty successful. First is in soil, you’ll want to take a few cuttings (refer to pic for where to cut) and plant those leaf side up in soil. Keep the top of the soil semi moist until the plant is well rooted, then water like you would a normal succulent. The second method is water, for this you usually need bigger cuttings. Instead of one leaf set, get about 5-6 inches of a vine and pick off the bottom two sets of leaves and put that part in water, change the water frequently and you should eventually have roots!

Omg that’s so funny! I cannot believe someone put a SOH in an alocasia😆it worked out pretty well for you though lol! Thank you so much for all this advice I’m gonna save ur text to my plant notes😉 Whenever I prop in soil i put the node in the soil with leafs up, correct? Just wanna make sure I do this right🤣

I would need a full day PTO to lie on the ground and mope.

#### Alicejokelly replied on 2023-07-31

Me tooooo!!! It would take me at least 2 days to finish crying before I could actually clean it up.
