Ok Real Talk: repotting water-rooted plants in soil. Is there a point of no return? Have you ever transferred a fully-established water-rooted plant to soil?

I have a few plants that have been living in water for a long time, but they don’t thrive like the soil-dwelling plants of the same type.

I’m afraid the transfer may kill them, and they’re old plants, so I don’t want to risk their safety.

Plant types include syngoniums, a spider plant, and a begonia Nokomis.

transferring to semi-hydro like pon or leca i think would be a great choice if you’d rather the plants grow in media rather than water. once they’re adjusted to that setup the roots should take to soil much easier, if you decide to transition them later

That makes sense, I’ll try that. Thank you!!

of course! this is how i propagate— root in water until they’re a few inches long, and transition to perlite until each baby plant has a sizeable root system and is ready for soil :-) i’ve also heard fluval stratum is fantastic for semi-hydro considering how nutrient dense it is
