# Need help with Philodendron Micans! Recently it hasn’t been doing so…

Need help with Philodendron Micans! Recently it hasn’t been doing so good, when I first got it 5 months ago I repotted out of nursery pot into a bigger plastic pot w/ drainage. It was thriving and putting out new leaves but when I moved out of my dorm for the summer it stopped growing, lost leaves and became leggy. Is there anything I can do to help it?

Light issues? Does it get less light than it used to?

What changed in its environment from before moving out of your dorm and after? Could be any number of things. What cardinal direction is your window facing that it’s placed in? What’s the humidity like? Is your watering schedule different? Have you checked for pests? Do you fertilize? Could also just be shock from moving. If you notice a continual decline in health, I would check out the roots for root rot

My micans loves a small pot. I had changed it into a larger pot because I didn't have the size I wanted on hand and figured she was strong enough not to care too much. Wrong! She got floppy and stopped putting out growth. So I out her back into a smaller pot and she's back to her happy self.

I recently potted my micans back in a smaller pot and I can already see it’s doing better, I think it may have been overwatered in a big pot since back at home it’s not as hot than my dorm is
