# Hiii!! New plant mom here (kinda) and I don’t know much yet but I do…

Hiii!!  
New plant mom here (kinda) and I don’t know much yet but I do have a question and I figured you guys can help! I’m sure it depends on which plant it is but how often should I repot plants?? For example a monstera or a pothos.

planta will actually give you advice for each plant, click the magnifying glass on the bottom and search your plant. then scroll down and it should give you all the info needed about repotting/soil etc… hope this helped!

About every 2 yrs. But if your soil is questionable, repot.

At the very least, use Planta’s tips. Otherwise, once a year is good. But, pay attention to your plants. If it’s outgrowing its pot, repot. If it’s struggling to grow, consider repotting.

It depends on each plant and each situation. A good rule of thumb would be to repot once you start seeing roots coming out of the drainage holes or if your plant starts to dry out quicker than it used to.
