# as a birthday present for myself, i’m going to a nursery tomorrow and…

as a birthday present for myself, i’m going to a nursery tomorrow and buy another plant. i can only keep plants in my room, but it’s in the basement so only very specific spots get persistent sunlight. i really wanted a hanging plant or something that flowers in the shade. any recommendation?

edit: i already have spider plants, a zz plant, a snake plant and birds nest bromeliad :)

spider plants are a great choice for shadier spots, and their flowers are simply stunning in my opinion

I believe bromeliads would be great! They have amazing color and can thrive on just florescent light!! They also love humidity. A peace lily also might do the trick, they just are less prone to flowering without light. There is still a chance it will though!

Have you thought about splitting your b-day money between a grow light and a plant. Even the $10 grow light from amazon will do the trick. Or better yet, if you have a lamp you can use, you can just use a grow light bulb
