# Okay so I’m a very new plant mom so i don’t really know anything…

Okay so I’m a very new plant mom so i don’t really know anything about any of my plants lol. I’ve had them all for about 2-3 months now. Most of them I bought for really cheap from someone who hadn’t taken good care of them and they are looking so much better now. So it’s embarrassing that the plant i’m having issues with are my aloe plants 😂 I have two and i think the issue was I was overwatering the first one. So I didn’t water it for like a month and a half and the color still isn’t quite
coming back to what it was. Any suggestions?

My guess would be not enough light; aloe also needs drainage if it doesn’t have it

There is a layer of rock at the bottom of the pot. A friend recommended that for pots that don’t have drainage holes.

This is a common suggestion….unfortunately it can actually have the opposite affect. The layer of rock can create surface tension causing a barrier. The water then does not drain into the desired space holding it all in the soil.

The best option, really (especially with succulents and desert plants) is to put it in a pot with drainage holes. You can put that pot inside the pretty one to keep your space looking nice. Just make sure to empty any excess water from the pot when watering.

Perched water table. Can cause all kinds of problems.
