# I saved a ZZ plant a couple months ago, it had almost never been…

_Posted by Mushroom on 2023-07-16_

I saved a ZZ plant a couple months ago, it had almost never been watered but is doing pretty well now. one thing though, the plant tends to droop unless propped up by something. i don’t think it’s caused by overwatering but rather just a weird thing the plant does. i’ve been putting the leaves against walls in hopes that it will be able to hold itself up after a while, but it isn’t really working. is this normal? help!

I’m having the same issues with my new growth, it seems to drooping to one side. I’m not sure if it because of the position I have it in maybe it’s just following the light. But I’m commenting to see if someone can help 😭😂

Pull the plant and look at the roots?

They should not be falling. How often do you water?

Should be normal... ZZ plant stems are known to arc when they’re big and heavy like that, I’m just not sure how much is normal . Long stems like that won’t stay straight, for sure, but make sure the stems are still nice and firm. If they are and the soil doesn’t seem mushy, I’d leave it alone and let it do its thing! If either are mushy, might be overwatered.
