# To cut or not to cut. That is the question. What are your thoughts…

To cut or not to cut. That is the question.

What are your thoughts about hoya carnosa krimson queens and princess with completely white leaves? I have always been told to remove white leaves as they are taking resources from the rest of the plant (no chlorophyll), and that a small amount can take a plant down. So being a good little gardener, I snip at them mercilessly.

What do you do?

I leave mine! That’s what makes the plant beautiful! When the plant no longer needs them, they’ll fall off.

I leave mine! They do take up nutrients but as soon as it cant keep supporting the lack of chlorophyll, they’ll shrivel up.

I leave mine too! I enjoy them so much and find that they often don’t fall off for a long time if at all.

I leave mine! That is one of the reasons why variegated plants are so pretty and desirable 🥰
